Write it Down

I have been looking for these little squares for the longest time (1X1") and finally found them.  Yep, these are little chalk boards, I have a few ideas for these but the earrings were first on my list.  If you can fit it in, you can express anything you want with these.  Then you can erase it and come up with something new, or use some colored chalk to make a picture statement.  But, you say, what can you do with a 1X1" space with a clunky piece of chalk?  Well there is an answer for that, and it will come with the earrings on my Etsy Store along with a short tutorial.

This shows one of the earrings with LOL and a smiley face, because these make me giggle.  It is feeling a lot like fall out there today.  It may rain here tomorrow in Northern California, so I am off now to fix a little window problem on the car.  Take care and please, enjoy your day, hugs

Tutorial For Chiseled Chalk Point

Supplies needed to get a chiseled end to your chalk are an Xacto knife or box cutter, a pencil sharpener with wide slot (if you purchase the chalk board earrings from my Etsy store the sharpener will come with your order along with a piece of chalk.
You want to cut some the end down with your knife of choice begin about 1/2 inch up from the end, it will look approximately as above, you want the end to fit into the wide opening on the sharpener.
When inserted, it will look like this.  Begin to gently rotate, but do not push down with a heavy hand or you will break the chalk, just keep rotating, inspecting at increments until you get the point you are happy with.
Your point will look like this, resharpen as needed.

Some important things to know:

Do not use a chalk pen, it will be permanent.

Use a dampened cloth to clean earrings, not a wet one. wring out well and after cleaning, dry with a  soft cloth.

Most of all have fun with these.
